Oregon Legislature focuses on land use, class-action lawsuits, OHSU money in final weeks!!

Oregon Health & Science University hopes to secure $200 million in bonds from the state to help the university match a $500 million challenge grant from Nike founder Phil Knight and his wife, Penny to boost cancer research. Whether lawmakers sign off on the full amount may be up for debate next week.
"There are really strong advocates for $200 million," said Rep. Peter Buckley, D-Ashland, a co-chair of the budget committee. "I think there’s some concern about using so much of it. We have $300 million in bonding capacity."
